Keep it Local

As much as possible, we try to source our food and drink from local suppliers:

  • Seafood from Fruits de Mer in Broadstairs who have 15 boats going out from Ramsgate to catch the lobsters we serve throughout the summer (6 miles)
  • Meat from The Butcher of Brogdale in Faversham who believe in sourcing meat from local and reputable suppliers to ensure excellent, traceable provenance (26 miles)
  • Coffee supplied by Real Deal Roasters in Deal who only roast carefully selected single origin coffee beans and all their coffees are pure (no added flavours), some are fair trade (or even beyond fair trade) and some are organic (16 miles)
  • Teas are personally hand-blended for us by Rosie Lea Tea in Broadstairs (3 miles)
  • Time & Tide beer on tap and Kraken Coffee Stout from Eastry, near Deal (12 miles)
  • Curious IPA, Curious Brew lager fermented with champagne yeast, and Curious Apple cider made with 100% pure Kent apple juice from the Chapeldown Winery in Tenterden (50 miles)
  • Gluten-free Freedom Ale from Westerham Brewery who use water from their own 90m borehole drilled down into the Hythe beds of the Lower Greensand Ridge, Kentish hops and re-cultured yeast from the Black Eagle Brewery (72 miles)
  • Kentish Pip Skylark cider from Bekesbourne near Canterbury is made using a mixture of their own farm-grown, freshly picked dessert and cider apples (16 miles)
  • Kingsdown Sparkling Pressés are made from sparkling spring water from the Kingsdown source on the North Downs and meticulously sourced juices (17 miles)
  • Chase Vodka is created in its entirety – from seed to bottle – on the Williams Chase Herefordshire family farm, a gluten-free vodka of exquisite quality and with true provenance made with only two ingredients: potatoes from the farm and water from their bore hole, making it the only true Single-Estate spirit in the UK (230 miles)
  • Anno Gin from the Anno Distillery in Marden, Kent, incorporates luscious local botanicals synonymous with the idyllic Kent Countryside, such as hops, samphire and local florals to create an outstanding super-smooth gin with a unique flavour of Kent (50 miles)
  • Ice cream from Taywells, created in 2006 to utilise surplus fruit from farms in Kent and turn it into something special that is free from all artificial additives, colours and stabilisers and almost all are gluten free (56 miles)
  • Tarts from Never Mind the Cupcakes, an artisan baking business based in Margate, producing a range of cakes, tarts and treats using high quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible (2 miles)
